Description
In 1861 the 25-years old Heinrich Schneider decided to found a brewery on the “Grün’schen Hof” in Hachenburg. The Hachenburger brewery soon became the most important family brewery within the region. With business leader and co-owner Jens Geimer the family-owned company has reached the fifth generation and is still entirely independent.
Key to the success is that the beer is consistently cooled, the precious beer has achieved its special aroma over and over again for 150 years. What was true then is still true today: the long and cold ageing process is a fundamental requirement for a real Hachenburger as well as the use of high-grade raw materials. As well as the natural spring water from the Rothbach valley

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear, amber coloured, big off-white head, very slowly collapsing; moderate dry roasty-malty nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, not too dry; but again increasing dryness towards the malty-bitter finish, followed by a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Decent stuff.....

Bottle. Cloudy orange-yellow, quite carbonated, huge off-white creamy head. Aroma hides beneath the head. Ripe oranges, banana base flavor, vanilla, light allspice. Fresh and well balanced. Sparkly, yet creamy mouthfeel. Pleasant fresh weissbier.

Bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. A clear, golden beer with a white head. Slightly unpleasant nose, but mostly pale malts and fruity hops. Dry, medium mouthfeel. The flavor is malty, slightly biscuit, with fruits and some hops giving bitterness. Bitter finish. A rather boring one. 100814
