Smooth and mild beginning. The texture is very soft, the bitterness in the aftertaste moderate. In the aftertaste there is a bit of grainy malty sweetness, that tends to become a bit bready. The body is soft, hints of dust. Easy to drink, very smooth and mild, great sessionable with some nice and smooth grainy parts.

Flasche („Schloßbräu Doppelbock“, 33 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Tiefes Rotbraun, fast klar, kaum Schaum. - In der Nase weinig-malzige Schwere, Brotkruste, Trockenobst, Rosinen. - Antrunk breit dunkelmalzig-malzsüß mit Bayrisch Blockmalz. Leicht schokoladig aber kaum herb, nur ein zart säuerlicher Touch hält die Balance. Gut rezent. Im Abgang nur ganz blasse Herbe. - Zu leicht und zu mild gehopft; es fehlt die bocktypische Schwere.

50cl bottle. Pours clear deep golden colour with a huge most good lasting white head. Aroma of pale malt, toasted malt, some metallic hops. Taste is sweet malty, dry, mild hops, caramel, toasted malt.

33cl bottle. Pours deep golden colour with a medium light beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, some caramel and honey. Taste is sweet malty, some hops, dry fruits, caramel.

Bottle looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass not as dark as exspected, nice head. Starts mild, malty, modest spicy, some sweetish notes. Fruity hints of peaches. Finish well balanced, still mild. Okay.

bottle, Bierzwerg des Monats Juni 2015. Golden colour, white head. Malty start with grainy hints and a touch of marzipane, some bitter and very shy aromatic hops towards the end.
