About
The brewery was founded in 1867 as the Dampfbrauerei Carl Kuntze. Later the name was changed into "Brauerei Neunspringe" on an old field name which in turn is derived from nine springs in the source area of the Hahle, from which the brewery draws its spring water. The brewery survived the war and stayed in the hand of the Kuntze family. But in 1953 the brewery was confiscated and transferred to a state-owned company, a situation that lasted till the end of the GDR. After a trust agency period by the Treuhandanstalt, the company became in a private limited company (GmbH) again in 1994.

Heller Malzantrunk mit angenehm grasigen Hopfenton. Süßlich, angenehme Hefe, süffig würzig. Dann wird das helle Malz intensiver, das Bier süßer und süffiger. Nett! 8/11/12/10/9/11

Wenig würziger, etwas muffiger Beginn. Auch die vorhandene Malzigkeit ist gering und bei weitem nicht aromatisch genug. Wässrig, spät herb. Ein ziemlich fades Festbier. 7/8/7/6/9/7

Small bottle, looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, modest dry, some spicy notes. Finish still mild, a bit wheaty. Drinkable, but nothing really special.

Herber, kurz darauf röstmalziger Antrunk. Später steht ebenfalls die Röstmalzigkeit im Vordergrund, dahinter seichte Hefenoten. Weitere Aromen stellen sich nicht ein, früh gleitet das Bier aus, erlebt im Abgang aber nochmal einen Malzhöhepunkt. Nett aber nichts Besonders. 7/8/9/9/7/8

bottle, courtesy of pivnizub. Deep black colour with a mid-sized beige head. Aroma of roasetd malts, caramel and bitter chocolate. Nearly no maltiness present, lots of roast flavours and dry dark chocolate and cocoa powder flavours. Shy hints of caramel.

bottle, delivered by pivnizub. Clear pale yellow colour with a mid-sized head. Hoppy nose with hints of cardboard. Light-bodied, sh ymalty base with some cardboardy-dusty hop flavours, also hints of boiled vegetables.

Bottle. Nutty, dark chocolate and raisin aroma. Pretty red chestnut, low head. Sweet nutella-bread malt base, herbal and citric hop counterpoint. Chewy, full body, fuller than most Dunkel and all Schwarzbier I have trid so far. Creamy mouthfeel. Light chocolate aftertaste. Quite flavoursome Schwarzbier , nice.
