About
The brewery was founded in 1867 as the Dampfbrauerei Carl Kuntze. Later the name was changed into "Brauerei Neunspringe" on an old field name which in turn is derived from nine springs in the source area of the Hahle, from which the brewery draws its spring water. The brewery survived the war and stayed in the hand of the Kuntze family. But in 1953 the brewery was confiscated and transferred to a state-owned company, a situation that lasted till the end of the GDR. After a trust agency period by the Treuhandanstalt, the company became in a private limited company (GmbH) again in 1994.

Bottle 33cl. [ As 9 Springer Doppel Karamel ]. Clear medium red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, bread, caramel, light roasted. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle:Deep ruby-amber coloured, firm lacy tanned head; shy cardboardy and roast-malty nose; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, relatively soft; traces of fruits and chocolate in the light to moderate sweet-bitter finish. Weak aroma, but all in all quite O.K. .........

Clear brown with a tiny beige head. sweet aroma with roasted malt, carame and rye bread. Cloying sweet with roasted malt, caramel and rye bread. Bit of chocolate as well. Fnished very sweet.

Bottle, 0.9%. Malty and dusty aroma. Clear dark brown colour, seems to have a bit of floaties. No head. The flavour is very sweet, caramelly, brown sugar. Dusty, sugary finish. Too sweet, of course, but not horrible. Low bitterness.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and cola. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel, malt, and straw, leading to a dry finish. Thanks MiP for sharing.

Bottle. Chocolate malt aroma. Opaque black-brown color with minimal head. Chocolate malt flavor - mild acidity and hops. Very nice tasting beer - would be better if it had a fuller body.

Bottle. Creamy barley malt and grass hops aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Strong grass hops and light barley malt flavor - hops dominate. Very hoppy for a German pils.

Bottle. Sweet-sour barley malt aroma with light astringency. Medium brown with small head. Astringent/sweet barley malt flavor. A nice Maibock.
