Description
Since the launch of Somersby in 2008, we like to think we have taken the world by storm. We went from 1 to over 50 markets in less than 10 years, and despite our short history, have become the biggest international cider brand in the universe.

500 ml can. Pours a clear gold apple juice color with little head that dissipates quickly though maintains good carbonation. Aroma just like apple juice. Taste is just like apple juice. No hint of alcohol - well hidden by the sweet apple taste. In summary, carbonated apple juice...

330 ml clear bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Nearly clear like water, just a hint of yellowish-greenish colour. Pours fizzy, hardly any head. Strong and disgusting artificial "pear" aroma, notes of chemical waste. Tastes like an alcopop full of sugary artificial "pear" flavourings, which is indeed what this "pear cider" actually is.

Medium coarseish head. Clear golden body with light carbonation. Sugary apple aroma with mealy notes. Sweet mealy apple taste with faint funky wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, rounded mouthfeel. Dryish winter apple aftertaste with mealy notes. Itβs not very complex, but a straightforward, drinkable cider. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side. Could be a lot worse. (0.33l bottle, Meny Ringnes Park, Oslo.)

330 ml clear bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. Also available in 750 ml bottles at Cardinal Pub & Bar. ABV is 4.5%. Golden colour. Pours very fizzy with a large white head that actually lasts a while (artificially carbonated, no doubt). Fairly nice aroma of cider apples, hints of oak and sulphites. The alleged "dry" flavour is actually rather sweet, but not as sweet as your average alcopop "cider". Notes of cider apples, sweet eating apples, sugar, sulphites and artificial flavouring. Could have been worse.

Bottle. A clear, golden drink with a little white head on top. Surprisingly pleasant aroma considering it is a Somersby product. Mostly apples, with some musty hints in the back. Grass notes too. The flavor is too much on the sweet side, but with the same pleasant apple found in the aroma. Some grassy hints. Medium body, too sweet. Apples and a citric touch in the end. Finally a decent Somersby cider. 120516
