Description
The Munn family has a long history in Herefordshire cider making. In the nineteenth century the Munn’s Red cider apple was recorded in Canon Pyon, and while the apple is also noted in the Herefordshire Pomona, we have been unable to locate any existing trees. In 2012 the family began the transformation of south-facing, four acre site on the England-Wales border and planted some two hundred heritage apple varieties in a traditional open orchard. Over the past twelve years a full bodied sparkling wine has been developed using the ‘methode traditionelle’ and enhanced with the addition of a local apple brandy.

750ml wired cork bottle from Border Sun. On opening the cork self-ejected with a loud pop. Golden colour, thin white foam head and aroma of apple, fruit, funk. Taste is sweetish, tangy, appley, fruity, with some funky notes and earthy drying tannin. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
