Dunkel rötlichbraun mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr süß nach Cola. Geschmack süß klebrig nach Cola, von Bier ist nichts zu schmecken.

50cl from Rewe in Mainz. Nice slightly cloudy amber beer with a nice white head. The nose is a bit grainy, The beer starts sharp, a bit metallic. The mainpart is fullbodied, slightliy smooth due to the yeast. Still a bit metallic and sharp. Grainy. The aftertaste is long, grainy, smooth but unround somehow.

Schöne Bernsteinfarbe, brotig-hefiger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist relativ brotig, dabei leicht süßlich-hefig. Der Hauptteil bleibt sehr brotig-alkoholfrei, dabei mild-weich-hefig und angenehm leicht süßlich. Auf der Zunge hält sich die hefig-brotige Note relativ lange, dabei eine leichte weizentypische Frische. Trotz dem brotig-alkoholfreien Geschmack erstaunlich süffig. --> Schmeckt viel zu alkoholfrei-brotig. Gute Ansätze, aber da gibt es bessere Alternativen! Der neue helle Bock aus Kirn. In diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal in einer "limitierten Auflage" von 2500 Kästen gebraut. Der Geruch ist hopfenblumig und bockbier-süßlich. Sehr angenehm. Im Antrunk ist das Bier sehr schön vollmundig-süßlich, dabei toll mild. Der Hauptteil setzt dieses leckere Aroma fort, es wirkt nicht schwer und der Alkohol ist auch nicht zu schmecken. Die schöne süßliche Hopfenblumigkeit entfaltet sich mit einer angenehmen Bockbier-Würzigkeit und einer schönen feinherben Note. Der Nachgeschmack ist lang und schön herb-würzig-süßlich. Es gibt keinerlei störenden Elemente. --> Tolles Bier. Wie ich mir einen hellen Bock vorstelle. (Test vom 15.11.2008) --> 12,13,12,13,12,13 - 12,70

Drank this many times over a number of years, normally in the same bar, here on the Mosel: this is a few words from a beer today (21st Sep 2013). Sat watching the world go by on a sunny afternoon in Cochem Cond: 04 litre glass of Pilsner ’Vom Fass’. Looks as good and inviting as any German Pilsner in it’s correct glass: bright, clean and clear, on top a full and lasting head of pure white foam. Not a lot of aroma: in fact the usual score of 3 I give a non-smelling Pilsner/Lager. Taste wise it scores better: Mild malt front with a good solid hop centre and finish, crisp and sharp feel to the mouth. Could easily have drank a load more, but a wine session was on the cards, so had to move on.

Half-litre tall glass: Cochem Cond, on 21 Sep 2013. Sunny day with a view across the river to Cochem Burg (castle); lovely. Beer came with a moody, murky look, orangey, with a cloudy centre, the off-white head hung around for a short while before becoming a collar and thin wisp. The nose was semi-sweet malts, with some orchard fruit and yeast notes, the taste also semi-sweet malty and again with a fruity feel. Well carbonated and refreshing, smoother than it looks: a very pleasant brew to sit and watch the river flow with.
