Bottle pour at a sake event in Osaka. Light koji and spice nose. Medium sweetness, some alcohol, spice, stone fruit. Not very interesting and a bit hot. Typical daigin of a large company. Not impressed.

New rating 11/30/21: Flight at ten. Murky white. Nose is very faint rice and coconut. Flavor is sweet rice, coconut, vanilla. Smooth, but not a ton of flavor. Old rating from October 21, 2016: Pink bottle from World Market, Charlottesville. I love me some nigori saki. Let’s hope this one is a good one. Pours milky, similar to almond milk. Milkd rice aroma, with hints of delicate fruit and glue. Flavor is meh overall: gluey rice, tiny bit of floral hints. I can get better at Kroger. 6,3,6,3,11

Bottle. Poured a very lightly hazed white color. Still. Aroma was light alcohol notes, some light fruit perhaps. Definite rice? Flavor of slightly sweet alcohol. Served sort of cold - I think we kept asking them to chill it more and more because it was 100 degrees outside. Pretty drinkable and clean.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours rather translucent water/perry color. Aroma is floral and rice. Smooth, smooth medium body. Flavor is clean without a trace of fusil oil. Call it rice with floral aspects. This may be the most delightful sake I can recall. I’ll recap the rest and frig it for the next time Chinese takeaway enters the house.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours clear as water with a few white bubbles. Aroma suggests ripe green melon. As does the flavor. It’s one of the nicer sakes I’ve tried.

720 ml bottle on New Years. Ricy junmai nose, koji, bit of peach. Rather dry, full rice, light stone fruit and citrus. Dry, fruity finish. Decent.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Refrig temp. Pours translucent water. Aroma lacks fusil oils I’d say, and otherwise might be ricey, and some sort of fruit - might be melon - might be banana. It has a somewhat oily texture, but it’s quite clean. The flavors are well blended - there’s a mild heat. It’s ricey and I still think melony. Quite dry for me.
