Description
Beer was first brewed at Klášter in 1570. In 1621 the brewery became property of the Wallenstein dynasty which remained the owner until 1945. In 1864 the Wallensteins built one of the most modern breweries of its times and towards the end of the 19th century, Klášter Brewery was among the seven largest breweries in Bohemia. Like with all czech breweries after the war the communist period and the reprivatisation in the nineties brough a lot of changes. Since 2012 the brewery belongs to the Lobkowicz Brewery Group.

Almost clear gold - amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Grainy tasting pale malts. Light dry floralness. Trace of citric peel. Dry crisp finish. Utterly standard stuff.

Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a faint white head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of steel, grass and grain. Flavour of cereal with a metallic finish. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. This tastes like a mass produced Lager.
