Gravity cask at the Pig’s Ear. Murky brown pour with a light beige film. Light toast aroma with nuts. Good and sweet with some caramel and brown sugar, medium roast malts, lightly dry bitters. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Some minerality in the finish, light roast, some brown sugar. Nice stuff.

(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Dark brown colour with brief, bubbly, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes, caramel and dark bread. Malty, fruity taste with dark bread, caramel, dried fruit, wort, roasty malt and slightly dusty hops in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness and medium bitterness. A touch metallic perhaps. Quite enjoyable.

[Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading] Pale amber, slight white head, slight fizz. Sweet & fruity up front, with a good crisp bitterness following through. Simple, but well executed and enjoyable.

Light golden colour. Fairly malty on the nose, but still a bit dull. Toasty with some earthy character. Too dull overall.
