Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 16/05/09. Deep amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Malty, red fruit and caramel aroma with some grassy hops. Flavour had more of the same, with plenty of hops in the finish. Good.

Cask at the Samuel Peto (JDW), Folkestone. Amber with a thin white head leaving some lacing; fresh hop aroma; flavours of grassy hops, caramel and jammy fruit; gentle bitterness and caramel sweetness to finish. An acceptable ordinary bitter.

Brownish coloured body with a light tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt, subtle mushrooms and a bit of a nutty scent. Light to Medium-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour up front fades into a malty taste and a bit of pit fruits in the taste. Aftertaste shows some nutty tastes along with a very mild coffee and chocolate type taste. Overall, a decent beer; definitely good to try! I sampled this pint on cask at The Market Porter in Borough, London, England on 11-March-2008.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Hazy orangey brown with a small off-white head. Lightly herbal aroma with notes of nuts. Lightly watery body, nuts and overripe fruit and a perfumy hoppy touch. Dry and bitter finish. 070209

Bottle 50cl. @ LCRBM 2008, ’s-Hertogenbosch, NetherlandsClear medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity - berry, raisin notes, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20081025]

Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. Brownish-black with a ruby red tint and soapy cream head; wholemeal toast aroma; smooth and syrupy - stewed plums with traces of smoke and bitter chocolate; leaving a warming finish. Very pleasant.

Cask at the Hobgobin, Reading. Tar coloured with a thin tan head; earthy aroma; sweet fruity malt flavours with some coffee; good sustained bitterness and a spicy and warming finish. An excellent mild.
