Owned by Schloßbrauerei Kaltenberg since 2009, stopped brewing then. Brewery is closed, small range of Holzkirchner beers is brewed at owners brewery.
Das Brauhaus in Holzkirchen blickt auf eine lange Tradition zurück. So wissen wir, dass schon 1605 der Tegernseer Abt dem Holzkirchner Oberbräu das Braurecht verliehen hat. Das Holzkirchner Oberbräu ist mit seiner über 400-jährigen Brautradition tief verwurzelt im bayerischen Oberland. Genießer und Kenner schätzen dieses Brauhaus für seine altbayerische Braukunst. Die ausgereiften und rein gebrauten Bierspezialitäten stehen für die traditionelle Lebensart im bayerischen Oberland.

bottle from a Getränkemrkt in Bad Tölz. Cloudy pale yellow, large white head. Wheaty and yeasty, fruity (banana), very full-bodied. A very nice example of the style.

Bottle, thanks to Quack-Duck. Light golden color with medium white head. Corn in aroma. Taste, sweet, corny, some fruit. Sweet finish. What to say, ehm, boring.

At Papsoe’s pre CPH Beer Fest tasting, cheers Henrik! Cloudy amber beer, semi dry palate. Reasonable carbonation. Some citrus and a mild wheaty finish. Ok.
