Clear golden colour with a very fast dying white head. Aroma of malt, citrus hops and a bit of sweetness. Light-bodied; Pleasant maltiness covered by a citrus hoppiness. Aftertaste clean with no reminants of taste. Overall, a good beer-not great nor bad. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle at the Lost Dog Cafe in Arlington, Virginia with my good friend Jon on 20-November-2003.

Very dark brown colour with slight ruby highlights when held up to a light. Nice dense light tan coloured head tops the beer perfectly. Malty aroma, some of it roasty, some of it not...with a slight sweetness and a subtle metallic twang. Medium to Light-bodied; Malty initial flavour with definate smoky characteristics and a slight tobacco flavour. The malt and hops are very subdued in this one, and the odder characteristics come out. Aftertaste actually very mild for the style and left fairly plain on the palate. Overall, a good dunkel, not great...but fairly nice all-around. I got this twelve ounce bottle in a trade with Suttree in Knoxville, Tennessee...thanks again Phil!

Colour is a very rich amber with a thick light tan head. Large malt aroma with some hints of spice lingering in the background. Thin bodied, almost like water with almost no taste. Some malt is evident later on in the taste, but almost no hops are present. Not even close to the style on this one, and a big disapointment. From the colour and the smell I figured I'd at least be able to drink this beer...but this is pretty bad! I got this twelve ounce bottle at Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia, but I'd suggest you not to do the same.

The colour of this beer is a hazy pale yellow colour as you'd imagine, with a nice thin white head. The aroma is that of cloves, banana and even some lemons. The taste was pretty light bodied and carbonated, but definately tasty with flavours of bananas and yeast. The aftertaste didn't last too long, but it was very pleasing. I bought this in a 12 ounce bottle entitled: 'Weizen' from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia.

Dark in colour, golden brown at the bottom...light in smell...a little noticable burnt smell. A light taste with no excessive or overwhelming flavours.

Red-amber. Malty, soft & balanced. Well made, but not the most complex of festbiers.

Dark brown. Apple and toffee in the aroma. Medium to light body, clean flavour, rather low bitterness. I can't help but associating to baked apples when drinking this.

Bleh. Sour and smelled and tasted of black olives (confirmed by others I was drinking with).

Definitely not a festbier. It looked like one, but it was quite bitter and had not malty side, no toffee toastiness either. I had this side by side with their helles and the difference is negligable - both are dominated by bitterness with no hop flavor and lacking malt body.

My beer didn't have the same label as pictured here and wasn't labelled pilsner but helles. Its closer to pilsner though, with a firm bitterness. Its missing any pils hop flavor though and does have a degree of malt backdone. Overall fairly uninteresting. Sweetish aroma, golden color, light fizzy head.
