Bottle from AH Jan Linders in Maastricht. Color: Very dark clear ruby, beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt. Taste: Roasted malt, dark malt, some caramel, light hints of vanilla, coffee and metallic hints. The 'eisbock-ing' doesn't add much to the flavor of a standard Dubbel. Ok overall, but not that special. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Moderate to over moderate sweet, light to moderate bitterness. Lightly creamy mouthfeel.

(Draught at Het Lagerhuys, Amsterdam, 15 Feb 2023) Dark ruby colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, chocolate, oak wood, raisins and prunes. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, oak wood, boozy whiskey flavours, vanilla and a mild spicy bitterness in a warming and slightly vinous finish. Full body, sweet. Rich, warming and surprisingly well balanced, with a generous Irish whiskey presence. Great beer!
