Oragne golden color, slight but steady head. Flowery honeyaroma and flavor. Perfumed sweet, but still some hops present. A bit of a woman's beer. Sweeter than average, a bit of flowers, a bit of honey. Well balanced. I like this beer, but "the nectar of the gods" as the label says......No!

Cafe De Engel Oldenzaal:beer of the month in ABT pubs in november 2004. Orange dark brown color. Thick creamy head. Full bodied with some raisinny sweetness. Rather alcoholic, firm hopbitterness. Blackcurrant and some licorice. Butterscotch. Strong and alcoholic, but a very nice beer, suitable for the colder days.

Bottle from the Alma Inn, Harwich. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a watery light metallic hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Way too light with little flavour.

Old school English bitter made with hops from the famed Kew Gardens; the profits are invested in the protection of endangered plant species, so this beer immediately gained my sympathy. Amber coloured bitter with soft caramelly and nutty malt sweetishness, dried fruits and spicy hops in the finish, well balanced.
