Bottle (apparently from the late 90s). Pours with a hazy ruby brown body. Aromas are a bit oxidized with notes of dark fruits, currants, dates, sherry, and caramel. Flavors are also a bit oxidized (sherry and light cardboard). Caramel, dark fruit and a bit vinous. Minimal carbonation, a bit sweet.

Bottled (2nd CS/ES Beer Gathering, thanks JP!). Old bottle with BBE 2007. Ambery brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is sweetish malts along with some fruity and floral notes. Quite nutty and mildly spicy as well. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with sweet malts, spices, some berries as well as mild honeyish notes. Has held rather well.

Originally rated September 2004. Poured an amber-orange colour with a fine head. The nose was fruity and hoppy. The taste, as well, was fruity (on the orange side). Could also taste the light caramel malts. Had a mild bitter finish. A pleasant english ale with a cool name, and a good story behind it (written on the label).
