Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Deep ruby lasting thin white head. Sour aroma. Really good, lovely sour old ale. Not convinced it’s 13.5%. Malts are there but not big sweet and all over the place like they could be. It’s great. Some malt, some dryness. It’s really good and very late in the day too.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Pours a cloudy amber colour with no head whatsoever. Seems a bit flat if truth be told. Aromas of sour cherries, tangerines, barley, grapefruit. Quite a sour/fruity nose. Flavours of toffee, citrus, slight sourness, vinous, ginger, some herbs. Moderate alcohol burn. Finishes malty and sweet with a warming alcohol feel. Not too bad.
