Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, some sour notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. (Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 8 Aug 2008) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of strong black coffee and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, cocoa, wild berries, prunes and raisin. Fairly bitter finish with cocoa and coffee. Complex and lots of taste. More character than the 4% abv would suggest. Very nice one.

Cask at GBBF 08 ... or at least i think it was this one ... Deep brown ... roast wood and some malt in nose ... rich smooth malts with ligth roast.

Cask@GBBF2008. Pale golden colour, small white head. Aroma is vegetable and has some bitter fruits and wood in it. Flavour is hops, wood and some grass along with yeast.

Cask@GBBF2008. Deep ambery brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is wood and some roasted notes. Flavour is roasted malts, wood and quite nice bitterness with some smoked wood and ashes in the aftertaste.

Cask handpull at The Wenlock. I had 2 halves of this just to make sure. Slightly hazy gold, thin white head. Like a golden bitter with subtle tasty hops on finish. Very drinkable, very nice hops and something that draws me to it. No great complexity, but good drinkability.
