From 33 cL bottle (labelled as Pitfields organic christmas ale 2005). Pours hazy orange, no head. Aroma of ginger and cinnamon, very dominating spices. Flavour too is very spicy, has a good bitterness. Too spicy overall. Finish is dry and spicy.

Bottle. Golden colour with beige head. Aroma is sweat feets, hop, sour, yeast. Flavour is sour, butterscotch, hop, Bitter and sour finish. Could be infected. I would like to try this one later .

Bottle: Hazy, chestnut coloured, smaller fluffy off-white head, slowly diminishing; dryish fruity and toasted-malty nose, soft MF, quite light-bodied, mainly moderate bitter flavour with a light sweetness; dryish bitter finish with notes of cacao or coffeee. A light, likeable Porter, pleasant.......

(bottle) Cloudy, murky brown colour with a short, off-white foamy layer. Moderately sweet and light acidic-fruity aroma of roasted malt, caramel and liquorice with woody hops in the background. Bitter flavour with a light liquorice sweetness, a bit slim bodied mouthfeel with a soft carbonation. Dry-ish, slightly toasted and bitter finish with a subtle coffee-ish and woody hoppy touch. A bit slim but nevertheless pretty likeable brew. More like an English Ale than a Porter.

Bottle. It pours a clear, golden with a beige head and thatโs the good part. It had an intense smell of baking yeast, and it dominated the flavor as well. Where the aroma also had horse-blanket and barnyard, the flavor at least had hops and malt, but finished with a heavy yeastiness and sourness. Medium mouthfeel. The bottle was not past BB-date, but it was horribly yeasty, so I am convinced something was wrong here, and judging from the other ratings, I would like to sample a good bottle sometime. (070427)

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London 27 Apr 2007) Black colour with foamy brown head. Roasted nose with notes of freshly ground black coffee. Roasted taste with chocolate, black coffee and notes of citrussy hops in the finish. Very tasty, leaning in the porter direction.

Bottle. Pours a reddish/brown color with a small off-white head. Malty hoppy aroma with some hints of caramel. Dry malty bitter aยดnd slightly yeasty flavor with some hints of caramel and hops. Has a long dry bitter finish.

33cl bottle from City Beverage Company, Hoxton. Cloudy old gold/orange colour with thin cream coloured head. Citric, spritzey wheat beer. Yeasty orangey aroma. Bit like jellied fruits. Some cereal in mouth and some lemon. I found it emminently drinkable.

500ml bottle from City Beverage Company, Old Street. Dark copper cloudy beer. Thick beige head. Barley wine, malty aroma. Bit herby. Some raisins. Creamy malty juicy raisins and sultanas in mouth. Great dose of hop on finish to balance full and rich flavours. Juicy dried fruits are great, fruit peel and citrus fruits. Love this beer. Wide and depp flavours. A little bit of sourness. Very drinkable and interesting 10% beer. 848414 3.8/5.0 Re-rate cask gravity at Pigโs Ear 09. Almost a lambic in the sourness. Bit of whisky type heat. Some candied citrus fruits. Some sherry character. Just about the beer of the festival.

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, small, slightly lacing white head; fruity (peaches)-honeyish aroma with some hidden hops; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, bitter-sweet finish, becoming drier in the aftertaste. Just another Bitter......
