50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Clear mahogany color with an off-white head. Nutty aroma with some toffee. Sweet taste with a nice bitter finish. Very satisfying altbier.

Bottle, bought in Gronau. Steady creamy head. Hops and vanilla in the modest aroma. Hoppy, hay like flavor with a long bitter aftertaste. JHust a touch of vanilla. Surprisingly good.

0.33 l bottle from ’Craftbeerspezialist’, best before August 2017. Dark brown to black with a thin, fluffy, quickly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and minimally fruity aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, praline, some coffee and hints of dark fruits. Moderately sweet, malty, medium roasty and a little fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and hints of dark fruits, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium body, rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent Stout, a bit too fizzy but quite tasty.

Bottle:Very deep amber coloured, presumably hazy, stable tanned foamy layer; moderate sweet-bitter roasty-caramelly nose with ashy traces and some background bitterness; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, soft MF; lingering sweet-roasty finish with a well balancing roast-malty bitterness in the aftertaste. A bit on the sweet side, but all in all a very pleasant drink. Also suitable for horses...

On tap at the brewpub. Trübes dunkel orange goldenes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch ist mild karamellig malzig, dezent fruchtig. Geschmack ist karamellig malzig, leicht nussig würzig hopfig, okay!
