Description
Pelican Brewing Company was born at the beach in Pacific City in 1996. Here, in front of a rundown old building at the water’s edge, stood three enthusiastic young folks whose thirst for great beer overshadowed their understanding of what it would take to build a brewery. They did it anyway. And now twenty years later, older, and wiser, Pelican Brewing Company is a craft beer industry leader with fans throughout the Northwest and around the world. Today we’ve taken our breweries and our values to other Oregon coastal towns where we wake up each day in a place that reminds us that amazing is possible. Cheers fellow fanatics. This is as good as it gets.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out rustic saison yeast, with wild notes, and grape must. Flavour is along the same lines, with tart wine grapes, wild yeast and rustic saison yeast. Really nice addition of the grapes. Tart, wild finish. Very good.

Bottle from my wife, xmas gift. Mahogany pour with scant, filmy head. Cherries feature prominently in the aroma, Belgian yeast, prunes, raisins. Taste starts with the cherries, but isn't sweet. Its also kind of thin though, which detracts slightly from the overall experience. Got much better as it warms

On tap at Tomato Street. Pours clear golden with a one finger bone white head that recedes into a skiff of foam somewhat quickly. Taste is mild to moderately bitter, finishing dry with a pithy bitterness. Citrusy hop flavors. Decent.

I dunno about this barleywine master race stuff. This is toffee juice but isn't any smoother than last year's.

12 oz can purchased as a single at the Made in Oregon shop at the Portland, Oregon airport. Canned 10/22/18 per bottom of can. The pour is a hazy cloudy orange with a small white head. The aroma is mango pineapple tropical fruit The taste is the fresh tropical fruit hops, fruit mango soft sweetness and a cereal malt base holds it all together. The palate is an unfiltered medium body with soft natural carbonation and a dry citrus peel finish. Clean take on the style, tasty.
