dark brown, small light brown head. aroma is coffe, roasted stuff, well blended, lots of coffe. faint caramel flavor is coffee, roasted grains, sweet caramelly.

Black with a medium deep beige head. Sweet aroma with hard roasted malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Sweet flavour with burned malt, dark bitter chocolate, coffee and caramel notes. Finished dry. Nice one.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a thick small and tan head. Pours dark tan head. Roasted and dark chocolate. Roasted and mild wineous fruity flavoured. Roasted and smooth malty and chocolate flavoured into the finish. Lingering finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of mj. Pours a clear black with a vague tint of red and a creamy light brown head leaving some laces. Hard roasted malts, chocolate and vanilla. Medium body, very hard roasted malts - almost burned - again vanilla and chocolate. Very malt bitter finish. 231109

22 oz bottle. Bought in June 09. Poured in my standard shaker, kicks up a golden head in about half the glass. Dark end of amber in color. Rich malty smell from a distance, a little more when I put my nose in it. Scottish ale always makes me think of peat, so I decide I smell that in there, too. I know from the abv listing not to expect a heavy ale, and that’s what I find. Light, sessionable beer. Toasted malts not enough to make up for a thin mouthfeel. Goes down nicely with balanced hops. But after half the bottle, a noticeable taste of dead yeast.

Bottle Vintage 2007 Pours out a mahogany topped with a sand head. Aroma was of pit fruits, brown sugar, and some molasses. Taste was more of the sweet dark fruits and sweet chocolate. Nice and thick.

October ’09 O-Town Throwdown, courtesy of BA trade. Pours orange, beige head. Aroma and flavor, hoppy, citrus, malts, good mouthfeel of pine and spices with hints of lingering caramel with faint bitter finish. Sweet sugary / caramel.

Bottle thanks to daknole. #2 marked on the cap. Black as night pour with a dark mocha head. Good retention and decent lace. Aroma of smoke, chocolate, dark fruits, dark fruits, creme, light spice and mocha. Taste is cocoa, smoke and non-super bitter coffee and some vanilla creamer. Light coconut note. Long duration of dark chocolate flavor. Creamy silky mouthfeel. Really well done!
