Established in 1913, Ölgerðin is the Icelandic word for 'brewery', and, as the name suggests, brewing was the company’s main focus from the start. The brewery is named for Egill Skallagrímsson, a Viking Age poet.

Can @ fonefan tasting. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are lime, fruits, malt and hops. LIght sour malty finish.

Can. Pours clear golden with medium white head. Aroma is malt, grass and lemon. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter and light to medium acidic. Body is watery with sparkling carbonation. Finish is short and mostly sweet with notes of green malt, grassy hops and lemon.

I tradisjonen med maltøl (må ikke forveksles med Stjørdal maltøl). Maltrik og fyldig, men god på en måte. Langt mer tolererbar en andre eksemplarer av stilen.
