Description
The Dortmunder Union Brewery (DUB) was established in 1873, the first brewmaster was Fritz Brinkhoff (1848-1927), who worked 50 years for the brewery. In 1887, a failed brew was delivered to a customer in Aachen which was a huge success. The Dortmunder Export was born.

In 1994, the Union Brewery took over the Dortmund Ritter Brewery, established in 1889, and renamed itself the Dortmund Union Ritter Brewery. Production was relocated from the city center to the previous production facility of the Ritter brewery on the outskirts in Lütgendortmund. In 2002 the Union-Ritter-Brauerei was renamed the Brinkhoff Brewery, and in 2006 production was relocated to the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei.

Bottle at Cologne. Clear golden color, small steady white head, lace. Nose is sweet and grassy. Light-bodied. Grassy, hop extract flavor, sweetish maltyness. Although "premium" feels more like a supermarket cheapo.

Bottle. Clear golden color, fluffy white head. Subtle aroma of grainy cereal. Taste is lightly bitter straw, very lager like.

0,5 l bottle from my parents, best before 4/2016 (!). Absolutely clear, transparent with a touch of gold. Medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, white head, leaving nice lacings on the glass. Sweetish, grainy aroma. Weak, sweetish-grainy taste. Short, watery and minimally bitter finish. Thin body, quite watery and smooth, average carbonation. Boring but drinkable.

Intensiv getreidiger, etwas pappiger Antrunk, bitter, milder Hopfen. Wenig herb, die pappige Trockenheit hält an. Süffig, gut trinkbar. 8/7/9/6/7/6

Golden color with white ring. Aroma of corn and sweet grains. Taste is the same, crisp feeling. Standard German Pilsner.

0,5l-bottle, best before 12.15. Smooth and fresh beginning. The typical alcohol-free sweetness is there with some grain, but not too intense. Highly drinkable, a bit watery-grainy, but soft and smooth. Slightly sweetish, moderate bitter finish, not too artificial and quite round for alcohol-free stuff. Bottled 500ml. -from Rudat Dortmund. Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, mild cereals in the nose. Malty, light grainy, slight herbal hoppy and touch of metal in rather short bitterish finish. Usual pils.
