Tap at Národní, absolutely no info about it (yet) around, guess they ran out of Frog Prince 11° sooner than expected... damn. Anyway, amber body with a lasting off white head. Fruity, flowery, herbal hoppiness, slightly soapy notes create the aroma. Okay really. Taste... starts off with a touch of tropical fruit juice and then the huge herbal hoppy bitterness strikes and wipes it out, while traces of white bread crust emerge from the maltiness for a second. The bitterness subsides as the palate gets used to it and then a flowery, vaguely tropical maybe hoppy combo comes up front. Quite daring I guess, but the malty backbone doesn't contain the hoppiness well, and it ended up unbalanced

Tap at the brewpub. Opaque peachy-yellow body, lasting white head. Interesting aroma, starting herbal, with the yeast-driven notes picking up, before being enhanced by light peach-apricot hoppy notes. Smoooth full yeasty Weizen body carrying big herbal and lemony hoppy notes, very well hopped, ending bitter. The bitter touch in the end is a bit out of sync, but this is a very good beer nonetheless. Unlike last month's IPA, they did a very good job here!

Tap at the brewpub. Misty dark amber-red body with a lasting off white head. The beer fails at the first hurdle, really, with a huge blast of diacetyl (butter) striking in the aroma and striking hard, cleaning up somewhat as time passed, letting some hoppy fruitiness to climb out. Fruity-hoppy notes in the taste, sweetish body countered by a simplistic herbal bitterness. Czech white bread crust maltiness shows up for a brief second and so does caramel and vague bubblegum. Turns out to be drinkable, but, even if we disregard the flaw - which is diacetyl, and in spite of some interesting notes, this seems to be in essence another mainly Czech malt-driven failed attempt at an IPA.

April 14th: Rerate at the brewery (thanks Kristian & Paskal). Much better this time, solid malty aroma. Full taste, sweetish even, rye bread-dominated, light bitterness in the finish. Now I can see why some people love it - it's indeed a very nice beer when in form! March 8th: Tap at the brewery, thx Matija! Darker ruby body, off whti ehead. Mild malty aroma, some mild fruitiness. Taste... very dry, lean, too lean body, sweetish malty touches, a little caramel and that's all. Frustratingly dull, with the overly lean body, perhaps the worst of the three in the end. 5/4/5/2/11

Tap at the brewery. Misty, murky golden body, whtie head. The aroma is much more enticing than the filtered version, distinct herbal hoppy and white bread aromas. Actually mixing with the smells of cooking in the air to create a doughnut-like note. Sweetish classic Czech lager taste, white bread crust maltiness, soft, mixes with a slightly subdued hop, very much nicely. Huh, not bad really, filtering this is such a waste...

Tap at the brewpub. Lovely, full golden body with a lasting white head. Very mild aroma, vague smooth herbal notes. Lean, subdued taste, dry-bready, swetish, lightly herbal. Not too much bitterness. Quite generic.
