«Василеостровская Пивоварня» - одна из старейших частных пивоварен г. Санкт-Петербурга. История началась с любви к пиву, когда в 2002 году мы решили сварить вкусное пиво, отличное от того, что по тем временам было представлено в магазинах.
Таким образом, на Васильевском Острове на свет появился наш первый сорт – «ВАСИЛЕОСТРОВСКОЕ Домашнее». Сваренный однажды для единственного ресторана сорт, настолько пришёлся по вкусу публике, что это положило начало нашей истории, длиной в десятилетия!

Bottle. Yellow-golden, cloudy, lush white foam cap. Aroma: a loaf and corn, butter and banana, a little cloves and esters. Light taste, wheat, a loaf, a little banana and corn sticks, a slight sourness, mediocre.

Look: slightly misted crimson red with a large pink head of decent retention. Aroma: mostly raspberry jam, sugar, additional malt. Taste: same picture. Medium us sweetness. Palate: medium minus body, average carbonation. Overall: very simple, poppy, unpretentious. Thanks God no off-notes. Still sad.

Appearance: hazy ochre yellow with a large white frothy head of good retention. Aroma: wheat bread, banana, overripe apples, old continental hop, light clove. Taste: light plus bready sweetness, banana, apples, clove, spicy and grassy hop. Light to medium bitterness. Palate: medium minus body, average to lively carbonation. Overall: quite decent actually.

Appearance: cloudy pinkish red with a tall slightly pinkish frothy head of good retention. Aroma: grapefruit, raw water, medicinal notes, malt. Taste: medium sweet. Sugary grapefruit, malt, yeast, raw water. Palate: light to medium body, average to lively carbonation. Overall: another fruit beer fail from the brewery.

Appearance: foggy chestnut brown with a moderate ivory-coloured head of medium retention. Aroma: anise and other herbs, toasted malts, caramel. Taste: pretty much the same. Light to medium sweet. Low to light bitterness. Palate: medium minus body, average to lively carbonation. Overall: not obligatory my choice but could be OK to herbs lovers.

Bottled at 5.0% ABV. Appearance: clear deep gold with a large white frothy head. Aroma: grain, metal, caramel, a hint of butterscotch, spicy hop. Taste: light sweet, malty. Grain and caramel. Butterscotch. Spicy hop. Light bitterness. Palate: light to medium body, medium carbonation. Overall: German name vs mediocre Czech Pilsner. A dissonance. Drinkable though.
