Super Bowl Sunday 2012, Dexters. Unfiltered orange-tan, nice foamy white head, steady. Could have used a little more malt depth, straight forward golden malt tones and an orange peel citrus hoppiness. Not exactly mind blowing, sort of unrefined, but still enjoyable. Soapy finish, dry, approaching medicinal.

Draft at HopCat, Grand Rapids. Hazy, dirty medium orange-brown body, thick puffy cream head. Spicy, grassy nose with some Belgianesque esters. Leafy, tannic body with spicy leaves, light lemony notes, hints of spice and orange, and a long, dirty, herbal finish.

Poured a hazy red-orange color with a small off-white head. There was a touch of some sour notes in here, with some dried fruit notes as well. Some tropical notes, a touch of funk.

Draft at the 2012 Michigan Brewerโs Guild Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Golden orange body. Nice sour characteristics in addition to catty hops. Tart with interesting balance. I really liked this one.

Draft at the 2012 Michigan Brewerโs Guild Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Chocolate, hints of clove and banana, but lots of diacetyl that ruined the experience.

Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a hazy deep peach amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination earthy citrus, pine and grassiness with a bit of underlying rye and sweet wheat. Flavor is grassy with some earthy pine hops that are not too bitter that let the rye and wheat come through.

Sampled from the cask at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a hazy deep gold with a ruby hue and a near white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of tart raspberry with a bit of underlying acid and barrel. Flavor gives you tart raspberry with a growing acid note that is cut slightly by the barrel.
