Aroma has a nice tartness with a bit of stone fruits and a backing grain. Flavor has a good amount of acid and sourness that works nicely with the underling barrel note.

5.2/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 5 Flavor 5 Texture 6 Overall 5
Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates completely. Aroma is full of green peppers with a bit of underlying sour cherry and some earthy barrel notes. Flavor has the same raw green pepper note up front that mellows to allow sour cherry and dark grains to come out. Pepper note was of putting for me.

Like many of the other raters, I found this atypical to the style. This was my first in a flight that included a belgian ale and I thought the bartender had mixed up the pour order. Fruity, spicy; lively, crisp; a very interesting pilsener. I was convinced to try it because of Ratebeerians’ ratings and I was not disappointed.
