On tap at MBGSF 2011, labeled as Bourbon Barrel Trippelweizenbock. Pours brown with gold highlights and an off-white to very light tan head. Bourbon and sweet cereat/wheat aroma. Flavor again leads with bourbon and wheaty ceereal flavor, with notes of cocoa and dark fruit coming up, strawberry and soy on occasion. Definitely some alcohol in there, too.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Deep orange, nearly garnet-red body, thin dense cream head. Nose of roasted coffee, oak, and sour funk. Oaky body, slightly buttery but mostly sour with grapeskin and funk, also roasted coffee and toffee. Alcohol subtle. A strange beer, complex, but not entirely satisfying.

Sampled from the tap at the 2010 MBG Fall Fest. Poured a orange gold amber with a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a pine note with a slight floral note and a bit of sweet grain. Flavor began with floral notes, but transitioned in to more of a pine note with a slight sweet grain backing.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a hazy red with a gray brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of malts with bread and grain notes with a slight sweetness. Flavor was slightly bland with some grains and bread but not much else.
