On tap at Dusty’s Tap Room, Okemos. Murky orange-brown body, thin buff head. Leafy, tannic nose with toast and brown sugar notes. The body is a strong leafy hops tea that leads to a robust, sweet malty backbone with berries, brown sugar, and molasses. Leafy, bitter finish. Well-balanced, tasty, and original.

Hand-bottled at the brewery: Poured a hazy copper color ale with a rather large head and good retention with some lacing. Aroma of bready yeast and caramel malt is somewhat enjoyable. Taste is unfortunately more dominated by bready yeast then the malt backbone, which I was I wasn’t expecting considering the style. Body is quiet full with good carbonation. Too much yeast and malt doesn’t’ come out enough which is what this style usually called for.

Bottle at RBESG 09 Sheffield. Sour and hoppy. Big rubbery yeast aroma. Too sharp and acidic for me. Not much of a doppelbock. Decent sourness though.

Bottle at RBESG09 Grand tasting, Sheffield. Cloudy copper. Belgian lambic peach clone. Some lemon. It’s pretty good, but clearly not Belgian. OK, bit too carbonated..
