Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a slight amber hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces nicely. Aroma has a combination of sweet citrus, pine and grass with a sweet grain and flora backbone. Flavor has pine and flora notes with grass and sweet grains underlying.

Bottle, vintage 2017 (thanks Brandon!). Pours dark brown-black with beige brownish head. Aroma is very sweet, papery, wheat, vanilla. Flavor is sweet and bitter, bourbon, roast, wheat, booze, banana, vanilla, booze, and booze. Finish is sweet banana and massive booze. Overall: not a bad beverage, but way too boozy. I have tried 40+% ABV beverages that are less boozie than this... Also im not convinced that the base bock is really good to begin with.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2018. Pours a clear orange gold with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has straw and earthy grass notes with a pine bite underlying. Flavor has a good amount of sweet grain with a growing pine bitterness and a hint of caramel.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2018. Pours a near clear deep brown with a light brown head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has earthy dark grains, light roast and a hint of chocolate underlying. Flavor has lots of bread, a touch of dark grains and a bit of chocolate. A bit thin in the finish.

Bottle, 2015 vintage. Thanks Clownisseur - sorry this took so long! Pours clear candy apple red with a small white head and minimal lacing. Aroma is nice funky raspberries, musty and seedy, basement aromas mingle with fruit. Flavor is medium tart, medium funk, nice raspberry notes but not a fruit beer. Great musty horse blanket funk without trending to mushroom. Medium body, low carbonation. The time in bottle has done this beer well. Its pretty grate. From the reviews it looks like 2016 might have been a miss for this beer, but 2015 was a home run. Kudos.

MBG 12th Annual Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Murky, caramely- red-brown body, medium tight cream head. Tart, funky, earthy body, sweet and tart with a firm bite and the perfect compliment of oak. My notes are brief but this is one of the finest sour cherry beers I've sampled.
