Over one hundred years ago, the building known as the Palace Livery provided a vital service making it a unique gathering place for residents of and travelers to Southwest Michigan. This former horse livery has been brought back to life as The Livery!
Our mission is to honor the rich history of brewing by continuing to create hand-forged beer that will inspire and enlighten. The byproduct of our brewing is that it will continue to unite our community with travelers near and far, under one roof, in celebration of life! Furthermore, our outreach into the community will help strengthen the vast programs that encapsulate the character of our region.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2017. Pours a hazy purple with a pink hue and a near white head that starts at the edges. Aroma has a great sweet berry with some tart raspberry and a bit of dry barrel underlying. Flavor has great tart and sweet berries throughout with a bit of a dry barrel finish.

Bottle, 2014 vintage thanks to Clownisseur! Pours clear golden, medium fizzy white head, decent residual and lacing. Aroma is pretty buggy, Brett, some fecal notes, basement must, oak tannin, mushrooms, feet, lemon, and mineral water. Flavor is pretty lightly tart, pretty high funk, mushrooms and basement notes, earthy. Lightish body. Perhaps I should have enjoyed this a couple of years ago; sorry Brandon :(.

Thanks to Ingo, on June 2, 2017. 50 cl bottle. 2016 vintage.Hazy reddish color, small reddish-pink head. Raspberries, tart, acidic, sour, barnyard, plastic, alcohol scent. Acidic, sour, tasrt, berries, puckering taste. Also sulphur. Tart aftertaste. Medium full mouthfeel, no bitterness.

Bottle, vintage 2014 thanks to Clownniseur! Pours clear reddish golden, small white pink head, dissipates to a ring with some lacing. Aroma is cherry, oak, basement, stems, lemon, light vinous notes. Flavor is light plus tart and funky, cherries and oak plus Brett, hints of sweat socks. Medium body, low carbonation. Good.

Bottle. Clear copper color with aromas of green olives and pickles. (WTF????) Flavor has oak and olives and I am pretty confused after a few near-religious experiences with Livery sours in the past. This one is an odd duck and about as interesting as they come. That said, pass me a different beer, please.

Bottle generously shared with coyotehunter. Murky amber with aromas of oak, cider, vinegar, tar cherries and generally loveliness. Flavor is amazing. Tart cherries and... dude... amazing. Words fail.

Bottle split at RBWG ’16 hotel lobby share, thanks to b3SHN, 01/02/16. Hazed light red with a decent crimson cap. Nose is red berry must, straw, tangy fruit rinds, subtle barrel notes. Taste comprises zingy pink berry burst, light acidic bite, oak, wood must, funk, tarte raspberries. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light acidic rise in a drying close. Decent well balanced sour.

Bottle split at RBWG ’16 hotel lobby share, thanks to b3shine, 01/02/16. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is tarte fruit, off notes, farts, stale tones, musty wood. Taste comprises light chemical notes, vanilla, malty, spice, tarte fruit rinds, sour edge. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close. Clearly infected.

Bottle thanks to Clownissseur. 12 of 48 - whoah. Pours clear ruby black, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is dark fruits, toffee, hints of sherry, cocoa, dates, molasses. Flavor is pretty sweet, light bitter, full of raisin, cocoa, brown sugar and sherry notes. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation.
