Pours darker gold, some foam on top. Nose is sweet malty, some syrupy feel to it, caramelly even. Tastes sweet, some alcohol, bitter hop syrup. Too sweet and heavy on the body. Can drink this but well, not sure why I should do it again.

Tap at Takumiya. English-style IPA. Rather deep orange tending to amber. Malty nose, light caramel, UK style hops are ok but a bit faint, some herb, spice, citrus. Somewhat sweet but not too much, medium hops. Coming close to its intention, but a bit on the bland side. Not bad, needs more thought to the hops.

Bottle from Hasegawa. Deep, cloudy brown^amber, low thick head. Nose is caramel / toffee, grass, earth. Butterscotch could be diacetyl. Not sure. Sweet and creamy, butterscotch. Not too much, but the sweet, creamy character is dominant. Bitter, earthy hops, slightly spicy. A bit peppery. Too much sweet toffee for me, more like an old-school English brown. Not terrible, but needs work.

Bottle from Hasegawa. Estery, wheaty nose, biscuits, orange, peach, light honey. Cloudy orange-golden with a low, bubbly head. Sweet golden malts, biscuit or bread, lemon, orange, some estery. Clean, nothing off, but nothing exciting really happening either. Prickly hop finish is nice, but little in the way of hop flavor. Malt is not very expressive either. Except for the nice hoppy finish, tastes more like something a major would make. Body is a bit oily and thin, and a bit flat. A bit of tweaking and this would be quite nice.

Tap at Molto. A hazy copper with a thick beige head and a Biscuity rye caramel aroma with a hint of fruit. Medium bodied it’s got a silky smooth mouthfeel. The taste is surprisingly malt forward with rye breadiness, eggy yeast and dark fruit cake notes. Pretty good.

Tap at Molto. A hazy gold with a fuzzy white head and a tangy lemon aroma that sort of gives a nod towards a Weizen yeast. Medium to light bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is egg whites, lemon, tangy but earthy and somewhat rough. Paired with my salad & it’s acidic dressing things were smooths out somewhat and rendered more palatable. I’d say it is a decent start but the copper is farther along towards being where it needs to be.
