Yellowish head, gone in an eyeblink over cognac-coloured beer. Very sweet nose, alcohol, very liqueurish, caramel. Sweet, again very liqueurish with a very faint smokey streak. A dryish bitterness from the alcohol, raw. Alcoholburn, flat, undercarbonated. To me, this is not a barley wine but a malt liquor, be it with top fermenting. Thanks to Stef!

Sweet, nutty, candied fruit. Little bit of cardboard, mint! Taste is sweet as expected. Sweets like too. Lightly fruity. Alright but not quite right. Hot alcohol.

Pours orange hued, slight haze. Aroma sweetish and caramelly, honey. taste has also caramel, some honey stronger, maybe even beeswax. bitterness there but more in the background. Sweet and messy. More than only a bit weird.

Can at GJBF, apparently this retails on Rakuten for like 1000 yen or something. It isn’t worth that but was alright. My thoughts on it at the event were:

Tap at GJBF Osaka 2016. Pretty, clear orange, glowing. Nose or oranges, caramel, malty, boozy. Sweet, boozy, ok orange and citrus flavors. Too boozy and sweet, thought decently made. Interesting and better than expected.
