Swing top bottle. pale blonde. Soft malty and flowery aroma. Malty doughy flavor with flowery hops and a hint of citrus. A bit too sweet for a pilsener, but certainly drinkable.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep amber coloured, small lacy beige head; clean dryish aromas of dark malt, toasted malt and coffee; not very dry bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, soft MF; bittere-malty and sweet-malty finish with traces of fruits and coffee, again. Good and pleasant Schwarzbier........

(swing top bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a reddish shine and a medium-sized, not very stable tanned foamy head. Sweet and moderately roasted, slightly ashy and bready malty aroma with traces of herbal hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a slightly fizzy carbonation. Mildly roasted malt profile with notes of caramel, cacao and a leafy touch; sweet and moderately roasted malty finish with a shy burnt and hoppy bitterness. A tad too sweet but otherwise likeable (29.III.09).

Bottled. A light golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of straw, and so is the flavor, though added a light note of cardboard, leading to a refreshing bitter finish.

(swing top bottle; 5.0% abv) Cloudy, chestnut-brown coloured hue with a massive beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with a light to moderate wheat-character, distinctive notes of caramel and vanilla and a rather restrained fruity touch. Moderately sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation for a Weissbier. Toasty, moderately wheaty and light fruity taste with shy notes of caramel, vanilla and cloves; almost dry, sweet and slightly sour-fruity finish with a delicate phenolic spice. Balanced dark wheat beer (23.08.08).

Würzig spritziger Antrunk mit harmonischen Malznoten. Etwas herber im Mittelteil, erhöhte aber passende Karbonisierung. Süßlich malzig hopfiger Nachgeschmack, etwas Vanille. 9/10/11/11/7/11 --- Beer merged from original tick of Herzog Bock on 13 Jun 2011 at 06:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5.5. Hektischer Bock. Test vom 13.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,9,8,9,9 - 8,85

Bügelverschlußflasche: Chestnut-amber coloured, mid-sized beige head; light to moderate sweet dark-malty, caramelly nose with some nutty and sweet-fruity notes; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft MF; sweet dark-malty finish with a tinge of alcohol. Decent, not very impressive.........
