Description
Creative brewing is all about not sticking to the same old formula. Since 2008 we have experimented with different combinations of hops and ingredients to find both traditional and excitingly new tasting ales. We brew it with the care and attention we believe it deserves. Finest English malt is the base for all Backyard Brewhouse beers but it does not stop there. Combinations with hops such as New Age American, Old English, Slovenian and New Zealand as well as one or two other secret ingredients have helped make all our beers popular and distinctive. We are committed to creating new and interesting beers to sit alongside our range of core and regular products.

Cask @ The Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton before watching Derren Brown. Pours gold with a moderately sweet character and caramel influence from the hops. Not bad.

Cask at the Walsall CAMRA Beer Festival 2014. Poured a hazy dark brown with a bubbly broken light tan head. The aroma is rich boozy alcohol, liqourice, red berry fruit and roasted malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a smooth rich fruit alcoholic liqourice bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Should be a porter not a stout IMO. The aroma was amazing but it fell away a little towards the end. A great beer nonetheless and I will order one at the Fountain. More of the same guys. The brewery needs more signature beers like this.

Cask at the Walsall CAMRA Beer Festival 2014. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is grassy floral hop citrus. The flavour is medium bitter with a lovely smooth grass hop light bitter spice light pepper palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Loved the Marynka but I think it needs something else too. The palate was a little watery & weak and there was little in the finish. A good beer though all the same.

Tap at The Fountain, Walsall. Poured a crystal clear medium to light amber with a thin frothy white head and some glass-hugging white lace. The aroma is yeast, light malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a yeast light hop bitter palate and a short bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. As Pilsners go, it’s not bad at all and up there with some of the best.
