Ok, milky hazy pale color. IPA aroma perfume. Astringent medium IPA flavors. Some co2. Some bitter citrus rind. If this was an IPA, I’d say it’s quite acceptable, but its a saison, a hoppy saison? RBSG 2016 grandtasting from a can. Crushable? Not sure.

Can thanks to Andrew. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with medium creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong citrus, passionfruit, melon. Slick body, juicy, orange peel, pineapple, so crushable, really enjoyed this.

jeez. this beer is ugly. I hate this new style of let’s just make it a milkshake. smells like pickles. hmm, some farmhouse elements here, oats and citrus but it’s so flat and one dimensional. seems like these guys just make great labels.

Poured from a 16oz can. Aroma is balanced in hops and malt notes. Medium light caramel with some hints of cracker and honey. Moderate hop notes with orange, tangerine and tropical fruit with some lighter pine resin and faint dank notes. Some light alcohol spice. Pours a hazy, golden orange with a medium sized, thick white head that recedes steadily to the edges where it lingers. Way less hazy than other Hoof Hearted beers. Light lacing and medium legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with some medium light caramel, faint honey and light cracker notes. Medium high bitterness with some medium light alcohol spice. Medium hop notes with some orange, tangerine and lighter tropical fruit. Medium light pine and resin notes. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright IPA. In my mind a bit too malty with not enough hop character. The alcohol is well hidden though behind the malt and hops. Easy drinking for such a high abv DIPA.

Poured from a 16oz can. Aroma is very hop forward with lots of tropical fruit, citrus and some lighter dank and resinous notes. Lots of pineapple, papaya, mango, orange and apricot. Some lighter pine notes and a faint garlic, onion notes. Light cracker malt notes with a touch of wheat and bread. Pours fairly hazy, but not nearly as murky as other Hoof Hearted beers. Hold on color with a medium large, thick, white head that shows good retention as it slowly recedes to the edges. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately grainy with some cracker and wheat notes and a faint sweetness. Medium high bitterness. Fairly strong hop flavors, but less so than in the aroma. Quite a bit of pineapple, papaya and orange with faint apricot and pine. Less dank notes than in the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA. Lots of grain character with good hop notes. Very fruity with a light dank and pine note that helps cut the fruit character. Good grain backbone that doesn’t overpower.
