Description
Niall Fitzgerald and Kevin McKinney are the founders, brewers and driving force behind Stone Barrel Brewing. They both have a huge passion and appetite for all things in craft beer, from making to drinking and everything in between.

They launched Stone Barrel in November 2013 with one simple aim, to brew the kind of craft beers they love drinking. The good thing is that we love them all!

Draft at The Brew Dock. Hazy golden yellow color big fluffy white head. Light fruit aroma. Taste has light stonefruit light bitterness light body

Bottle at Malahide Grand, 11th November 17. Pours a dark hazy amber, little head. Aroma is cararmel, aromatic hops. Taste is floral, perfume, caramel, bitter and slight yeast. Very nice. Noted this was retired with the same name at 5.0, added this as a new beer.

05-09-17 // cask at The Underdog, Dublin, Ireland. The cask definitely didnt do a good Job to this IPA. It tasted too flat. Sweet malty Body, with citrus, Lemon Aromas and a medium bitter finish.

Bottle from Tesco, NI. Pretty decent session IPA, lacks lasting power...inital big hop hit. Mixed quality.

Bottle from O’Brien’s, Athlone [150117]
Amber, clear, frothy fluffy head
Aroma of soft sweet fruits, dab of orange
Taste of grain, grassy hops, pale caramel malts, some bitter orange
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, rather bitter. Finish is a bit dry and bitter.
Overall - OK, palate a bit rough-hewn, not getting passion fruit or pine as it states on the bottle

Bottle. Cloudy Amber with a medium head. Aroma of grain and fruit crush. Flavour is flowery hop, a little caramel, bitter fruit, long finish.

Bottle from McHughs. Hazy honey with a thin head. Aroma is dry fruity hop. Flavour is dry bitter hop, grapefruit, chalky, quite intense, long bitter finish.

Bottle from O’Brien’s, Athlone [120316]
Black, thin tan head
Aroma of good quality coffee roast
Taste of coffee roast, dark malts, espresso
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, soft sweet background, rather bitter coffee roast. Finish has a long coffee roast linger
Overall - Decent enough but I’m getting a bit tired of these coffee infused beers

Bottle from McHughs. Honey caramel with a large froth head. Aroma is citrus wood. Flavour is pine, forest, chewy oatmeal , sticky sweet, nutty finish. Lingering bitterness.

Bottle from McHughs. Black with a tan head. Aroma is roast coffee. Flavour is milky coffee, dry burnt chocolate finish. Chewy oatmeal base, smooth and sweet.
