Description
Independently-owned craft brewery providing North Carolina with quality beers since 1994.

Beginning in 1994 with a 7 barrel converted dairy system, we set and accomplished the goal of providing unique traditional ales & lagers available through OHB. Quickly we outgrew that system.

In 1997, we began the renovation of an 1880 Historic Landmark building, which now houses our brewing facilities, a 25-barrel Price Schonstrom brew house.

Sampled at Borefts 2019. Bit hazy dull brown with beige head. Huge bourbon, sweet sugary malts, vanilla, oak, light earthy, creamy bourbon cocktail stuff thing. Over medium sweet, medium bitter. Over medium bodied with slick feel.

Borefts 2019. Day 1. Murky brown with offwhite head. Sweet surupy grainy maple juice. Sweet wnd bitter. Bready at the core. Maple wentelteefje. Quite nice.

Sampled at Borefts 2019. Clear deep golden colour, off white head with a small layer retention. Aroma's of hops, resin, fruit confit. Retronasal it's resinous hops, bitter, fruity. Flavour is moderate bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied. Finish is rather bitter. Nice oldschool IPA.

Draft at Borefts’19, day 1. Black with a ring beige head. Aroma of bourbon, cinnamon, oak, vanilla, chilli and chocolate. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Toffee, boatloads of bourbon, oak and some dried fruit, subtle hop bitterness. Delicious stuff.

Draught @ Borefts 2019 Aroma has cocoa and some licorice. Flavour has licorice, some mild herbal tones and hints of cocoa. Easy-going IS.

Draught @ Borefts 2019 Aroma has sweet malt and licorice. Also some fruitiness. Flavour has bourbon, vanilla, fruity notes, licorice and alcohol. A good bourbon-IS.

Draught @ Borefts 2019 Aroma has tropical fruits, fruit juice and grapefruit. Flavour has tropical fruits, woody tones, minerals, grapefruits and mild herbal tones. Aftertaste has some hop burn. Quite what it promises to be - a really hoppy IPA.
