Glasshouse Beer Co
Microbrewery
in Birmingham,
West Midlands,
England 🏴
Associated Venue: Glasshouse Brewery Tap
Established in 2018
Graduating from Josh’s mum’s greenhouse in 2018 (where the brewery gets its name), GlassHouse had a rocky period over the pandemic but managed to push through by producing a great range of cans.
GlassHouse beer isn’t fined or filtered, and while it has been known to produce a milk stout or two, its beers are typically vegan. While they’re available nationally, the team’s glare is firmly fixed on improving and supporting the Birmingham beer scene.

(Draft at Akkurat, Stockholm, 4 Oct 2025) Hazy yellow colour with lasting, white head. Fruity nose with citrus, orange, peaches, grass and white bread. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange, grass, white bread, pine needles, oats and a mild citric/grassy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Rich aromatic hop profile and a soft malt base. Quite drinkable. Very nice

Draft at The Wolf, Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy, light tan head. The aroma is big caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, buttery popcorn caramel, chocolate, spicy coffee palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Might be Cadbury inspired, but I didn’t get as much chocolate as I’d hoped for. Based on a Crunchie bar perhaps? Surprised to get some coffee, but not disappointed.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Cadburys Fudge, toffee & demerara sugar aromas. Taste is a rich mix of the above. Does exactly what it says in the blurb. Good stuff.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just hints of malts and citrus. In the mouth it is basically bitter, but with a little underlying sweetness. There’s a mix of hops in the flavour quite a bit of ginger plus hints of malts, marmalade and oranges. Finish is dry and slightly spicy. This is decent- nicely restrained.
