Description
Anomaly brewing is a nano brewery based in Kingston upon Thames, created by self-taught brewer Adam Sutton. We specialise in taking old, forgotten recipes from around Europe, particularly Belgian, French and English styles, and rethink them with today’s brewing technology in mind. This includes new breeds of hops, new hopping methods, new styles of wild yeast and of course new brewing equipment.

Black pour with a small tan head. Grain/malt, cream, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, spices. Nice, somewhat spicy finish. Not overly boozy. Flavour profile could be a bit bolder, given the ABV.

Cask at EBF Nov 25. Hazy dark orange. White head just sticks to the rim. Aroma has stone fruit, with a resinous edge. Pulpy. But somehow low key. Flavourwise it then amps up, to be fair. Stone fruit with a resinous streak. A lorra fruit juice. But not overly sweet. Light-medium bodied. Slick to oily. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable stuff. A fruit juice I can get behind.

- Cask at EBF Nov 25. Darkest brown. Inky. Thin foamy tan head. Aroma has spice and coffee with sour cream. Flavourwise there's initial spice over cacao, espresso and a hint of liqourice. Underlying creaminess. Thick. Oily. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable yet somehow restrained.

Can from 7000 Jars, Kingston. Aroma is fruity, with a resinous streak and spice. Hazy-opaque - for me it's orange rather than golden. Thick foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. A big dose of resin. Alongside this we have juicy citrus. Prickly spice. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Big punch bitter boi NEIPA.

Can from 7000 Jars, Kingston. Aroma has mocha and malts. Also nuts for a praline effect. And berries, cos I always say that don't I. A muddy dark brown. Foamy beige head attempts a couple before having second thoughts. Initial sour berry hit and then coffee bitterness. But it'sthe sournessthat's pre-eminentin a cold brew fashion. Somewhat light. Slick. Some sticky residue. Average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable. Punchy.
