Can at home in Hackney - picked up at a bottle shop, maybe Clissold Wines. Pours clear, bright gold with a sturdy, frothy white head; it looks great, to be honest. But aside from the appearance, it's a bit of a wreck. The nose has some vague dried apple notes, some ash and minerals, husky grains. Light sweet flavour with notes of pine needles, crackery pale malts, grass, old lemon peel. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Fairly aggressively bitter on the finish, with more grain husk, lemon peel, dry and flinty minerals, hay. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Somewhat neutered. Not that impressive.

Can at home, 28/08/17. Murky golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is toasted grains, straw, light orange notes, grass, breads. Taste comprises bitter orange, toasted grains, light bread, dusty hop notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with slightly astringent bitterness and moderate hop load. Pretty basic affair and not one I’d revisit.

Can on the train home (68008), picked up at London Beer Lab, 24/08/17. Clear golden orange with a seemingly decent off white cap. Nose is bitter orange, citric peel, straw, toasted grains. Taste comprises citric pith, straw, lemon rind, biscuit, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Low end for the style ... sippable but a little harsh in places ... wouldn’t return to this given the choice these days.
