Can from Hops & Crafts, Exeter. Pours clear deep amber with a beige cap. Aroma: bread, dark fruits, hints of coffee & chocolate. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, semi=dry, brown bread, caramel, coffee & chocolate hints. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Pretty well made although the Alt continues to not be my thing.

Can ordered from Ghost Whale, Putney. Aroma is malty with a sweet liquorice streak. Opaque chestnut. Foamy light beige head retreats to the rim. Light-medium bitter. Grainy. Liquorice. Wood. Sour citrus and berry streak. Tangy. Juicy. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Enjoyable stuff for sure. Slips down.

Spotty beige head on a hazed golden coloured body. Malt, sweet biscuit & bready aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, soft & cloying. Biscuit, crackers, malt, bread & berry tastes with nicely hopped finish. A very easy going decent lager.

Can, online from Red Elephant Beer Cellar, Truro. Pours light hazed orange with a white cap. Aroma: malt, caramel. Taste: moderate sweet & light to moderate bitter, toasted malts, caramel, light spicy, with some hop bitterness. Medium body with fine carbonation. Tidy.

Can from BrewDog. It pours darkest ruby - black with a decent frothy beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, caramel, cola, toasted pine, malt loaf, dark fruits and Dr Pepper. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, plenty of dark fruits and berries, blueberry muffin, malt loaf, cola, fizzy cola bottles, jammy, peppery spice and toasted wood with a smooth, cola cubes finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent hoppy black lager.

Clear, dark amber beer, thin off white head. Aroma is malty with a good hit of caramel. Flavour follows suit. Caramel, malt, a touch of hop, a bit bready and some dried fruit. Very decent.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear, light chestnut brown with a modest, creamy khaki head. Lightly sweet with nutty notes, toasted biscuits, brown bread, subtle earthy-leafy bitterness. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Decent balance to finish, more toasted malts, a little dried grass, earth, nips of burnt caramel, bread, more toasted biscuits. Subtle and quite drinkable.
