Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, 1/8/2014. Medium brown in colour, with a decent, off-white head. Toasty malts, some brown sugar, berry notes, oak and a gentle finish. A good beer.

Bottle shared in London. Poura clear, amber-brown with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has lots of toasty bread, some toasty leaves, hints of rubber. Light sweet flavor with some mellow cocoa, rubber, toasted grains, brown bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderate sweetness to finish, burnt rubber, toasted brown bread, dried berries. So so.

Bottle shared at chriso’s - thanks to Paul. Pours clear yellow with a creamy white head. Pithy citrus in the nose, lots of lemon rind, minerals. Light sweet flavor with dry pale bread, hay, pine needles, more pith. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry lemon finish, some dry pale malts, straw, stones, peach. Fair.

Bottle shared at chriso’s in London - thanks to Paul. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy white head. The nose has flinty minerals, ripe citrus. Light-medium sweet flavor with lemon rind, dried pale malts, minerals, dirty hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Rindy bitter finish, more minerals, faint marmalade, sand, hay. So so.

Bottle from Red Lion Cricklade. It pours lightly hazy golden-orange with a thick, bubbly white head. The nose is piney, juicy citrus, five alive fruit juice and brioche. The taste is crisp, bitter, doughy, lemon peel, soap, orange, sherbet and pine needles with a bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp, good deal of bitterness and high drinkability. Really rather good.

Bottle from Red Lion, Cricklade. It pours hazy gold with a medium white head. The nose is grapefruit, lemon sherbet, barnyard and hay. The taste is crisp, bitter, grapefruit, lemon peel, sherbet pine needles and straw with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp, refreshing and good bitterness. Rather nice.

Cask at the Red Lion Inn, Cricklade, Wiltshire, Saturday 5th July 2014 A wonderful tropical nose heralds the arrival of this beer, you really smell it before its got anywhere near your chops. Pours hazy golden in colour. Quite soft in the mouth it is hoppy but those tropical hops are failing to have quite the same impact in the mouth as they did on the nose. Still this is a fruity (tropical) hoppy, tasty beer, I like it. A8 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.6
