Description
Based in Swindon and nearby Cricklade, the Hop Kettle Brewing Co. was founded by Tom Gee.
With over two decades of experience in hospitality, we have the insider’s understanding of the drinks industry, and the technical knowledge required to create one-of-a-kind brews. Rather than seeing beer as an established product in an established industry, we see it as a drink with no end of potential and variety. Hop Kettle Brewing Co. represents our means of exploring the possibilities of brewing, using a diverse range of ingredients to create beers with unique flavour profiles.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours dark brown with a fine, tan cream cap. Lightly tangy dark malt aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor with further tangy malts, very little suggestion of fruit. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry and roasty to finish with a final kick of tangy, dark malts. Pretty unappealing by and large.

On gravity at Swindon Beer Festival, 25/10/2012. Deep gold with a slight white head. Some tropical fruits, sweet cereal malts and a dry, hoppy finish. Good, but didn’t match the high standards set by the same brewery’s triple cherry porter.

On gravity at Swindon Beer Festival, 25/10/2012. Dark brown with a touch of deep, cherry pink and slight, off-white head. Aroma of sour cherries, cherry pits and roasted malts, with a hint of sweetness. Flavour had plenty of cherries, sweet up front and tart later on, with a hint of smoke and dry finish. An excellent beer with cherry notes come from so many sources. My beer of the festival.

On gravity at the Three Tuns, Bristol 12/10/2012. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, oranges and grassy hops. Flavour had more sweet fruit, some jaffa cake and a big, very bitter finish. A bit harsh, but ok.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 7/10/2012. Copper in colour, with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of tangerines, berry fruits, pine and caramel with some floral hops. Flavour started sweet, with more fruits, solid malts and a lingering, dryish finish. Very good.
