Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a hazy bitter brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is mainly malts with a general air of fruitiness. In the mouth it is fruity with oranges, aplles and raisins overlaying a malt base. After a while some floral hops come through leading to a dry and bitter finish. This is quite nice.

Zesty peel, spiced fruits and more than just a hint of smoke in-mouth. A finish of smoked spiciness, citrus and a little bitterness. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading at 4.3% ABV] A reddish chestnut pour with a tight beige head; aroma of purple fruit with a touch of spice; luscious fruity taste with spiced plums and damsons; then a lingering bitter finish with more fruit. Seemingly very good- I rated it 3.8 at first. Then I read the other reviews and had a second, and was disappointed to find it sweeter and more treacly; along the lines of Hobgoblin, so I’ve adjusted my score a little.

[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] An amber pour with a ring of white head; sugary aroma; sweet honeyed floral taste with a grainy body; then some interesting aromatic bitterness from the hops. Rather good.
