Barwa bursztynowa dość ciemna, mętne. Piana niezbyt gęsta ale długo się utrzymuje, ładnie oblepia szkło. W aromacie czuć wyraźnie cytrusy, głównie pomarańcze. W smaku cytrusy pomarańcz, cytryna. Wyraźna, przyjemna goryczka.

Butelka. Ciemnobrązowe, niemalże czarne. W aromacie mocno czekoladowe, z nutami kawowymi i słodowymi. Chmiel gdzieś głęboko schowany. W smaku średnio słodkie, z wyraźną goryczką. Całkiem przyjemna pełnia, namiastka gęstości. Ogólnie bardzo poprawne piwo, przyjemnie było je sączyć. Zaskoczenie, bo to pierwsze piwo z Za Miastem, które nadawało się do picia. Inna sprawa: są 2 rodzaje Black IPA - jedno chmielowe, idące w prażony słonecznik (mój ulubiony styl), drugie bardziej FESopodobne, z nienachalnym chmieleniem (dla mnie różniące się od American Stoutu tylko niższą goryczką). To jest zdecydowanie ten drugi rodzaj.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of vanilla, barrel and malt, with estery touches. Bitter, hoppy and roasty flavour with notes of malt, coffee, barrel and yeast and touches of vanilla. Bitter and roasty aftertaste with barrellike notes. Decent but the barrellike notes could be more pronounced.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with airy beige head. Dark aroma of barrel, sherry, malt and yeast, with notes of caramel and chocolate. Bitter, roasty and boozy flavour with notes of yeast and malt and touches of barrel and caramel. Boozy and roasty aftertaste with barrellike notes. Decent but quite potent. The alcohol notes are unnecessarily conspicuous.

Bottle, 9.0%. Vinous, but not sweet aroma. Some dust, hint of raisin. Very dark brown colour. Seems unclear. Very small light brown head. The flavour is dry and vinous at first. Then comes a mild spicy note, nutmeg. The bitterness is clean, but rather uncompromising. Is balanced very slightly by a faint vanilla note, though.

Bottle, 9.0%. Citric aroma, yeasty. Vinous with a little raisin. Very dark brown colour. Not black. Seems unclear. Small light brown head. The flavour is nicely roasted. A little vanilla. Good woody flavour, not the bitter or citric kind, just fresh wood. Creamy mouthfeel. In the late aftertaste there is a hint of acid and a slightly rough bitterness.
