Black Riesling Imperial Stout from Field House Brewing

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a medium dark brown head. Aroma brings out deep roasted malt, some grape must, earthiness and some molasses. Flavour is surprisingly dry—almost bone dry—with medium roast, molasses, and musty grape skins. Quite unusual for an imperial stout, but I think it works. Interesting experiment.

Decent orange note, sort of artificial, but okay. Moderate sourness. Not 100% egregious, but not exactly pushing the limits of the brewer's craft.

Hibiscus Wheat from Field House Brewing

Brewed in Chilliwack. Pinkish orangey sort of colour. Thick head. Aroma has a lot of hibiscus. Full body with biscuity malts and a hint of wheat, again finishing with lots of hibiscus. Some hop bitterness in there, too. Doesn'�t 100% come together but this makes the most of a fairly standard concept.

Citra Amarillo Sour from Field House Brewing

A chwk beer, cloudy but a bit dull. No head. Big hop fruitiness to the aroma. Lacto but mostly massive fruit. Simple but effective -I always liked this DH sour thing but for some reason you don'�t see it much -maybe I'�m the only one who actually likes it.

Pale amber, medium head. Light body, some phenols coming through on both the palate and aroma, so that'�s way off. Medium body, no malt complexity, poor extraction. Doesn'�t really exhibit anything I want in this style. Not saying there isn'�t a shitty supermarket brand of festbier in Germany that tastes like this, but it'�s a miss for me.

CHWK beer. Fruity aroma. Dull pale colour. Not much head. Moderate bitterness, overripe stone fruits, but lacks any sort of malt backbone, which means it'�s below the normal FH standard for an IPA.

Poured from the tap. Hazy gold with small white head. Apricot and lemon, the lemon gives a bit of cleaning product notes, mild wit underlay. Would have preferred a bit more apricot and bit less lemon, but it’s okay.

Citra Sabro Simcoe Triple IPA from Field House Brewing

Pale, hazy, has a thin head. Bright lemon-lime hop note, light apricot. Medium bitterness and a bit of alcohol. This is quite good.

Kind of a dull colour. Fruity hop nose, mellow malt. More fruity, orangey type hop notes. Almost sweetish.
