Gravity cask at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Tawny brown, almost clear, with a ring of white head. Aroma bring soft sweet cooking slice and a little stone fruit... very festive indeed if that little bit muted. While there's some sweetness in the initial taste, the bitter astringency of the hop takes hold through to the long finish, with more stone fruit and a woddy quality. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with scant bidy or carbonation. Not all that much to it unfortunately...

Cask gravity at GBBF 2019. Hazy deep gold colour. No head. Not a great aroma. Biscuit. Biscuit malt not much bitterness. It's ok not too interesting

Bottle bought i Northampton at Albion Brewer Bar. Unclear dark brown body, spotty lacing from a low beige head. Dried fruity nose with a basement touch. Taste is a mix of marmalade and caramel malts with the basement touch beneath. Drying and warming, rather sweet end. Quite alright as a slow sipper. (Shared at a rating session with lmojo, Finn and djoeye, Tromsø 06.03.2019).

Cask ale, half-pint, shard with Finn at the brewpub in Northampton. A clear golden-brown body under a filmy layer, upper part lacing on the glass. Ripe citrus nose with bread-like malts. Taste of caramel malts joined by ripe lemon and bread. A slight touch of resinous bitterness to the ending. Quite alright. (12.02.2019).

Cask ale, half-pint, shard with Finn at the brewpub in Northampton. Dark amber coloured body, slightly hazed. Rich lacing on the glass. Beige head. Moderate smell of toffee and bread. Grainy malts and earth to the taste profile, traces of dried fruits. Malt-fruity endnotes. Satisfying. (12.02.2019)

Cask ale, half-pint, shard with Finn at the brewpub in Northampton. A ruby shade to a black body. Naked surface, dotted spots on the glass. Dark earthy malts on the nse, mid-sweet. Carefully roasted malty flavours, impact of chocolate and molasses. Smootly malts to the ending. Quite alright. (12.02.2019).
