Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Delicious IPA, a showcase of Simcoe versatility without indulging in its potentially intense bitterness. Skittle-laced hop fruitiness mixes with a heavy-duty malt base, leading to a citric-pine finish and a modest bitter fade. Could use a few more IBUs to give it some oomph, but a good beer nonetheless.

Big and piney like a hundred-foot conifer, Red Handed oozes hop madness, slathering big tropical fruit hops all over your palate before settling into a lengthy semidry fade. Malts add a caramel-honey sweetness that eases some of the clingy bitterness. Finishes with a manageable hop bite sitting on a citrus salad fade that begs for another sip. Yum.

Juicy, grassy, lovely IPA, a perfect showcase for Mosaic complexity. Oats provide a slick, full texture, and the malts eke out just enough sweetness to accentuate the herbal hop tastiness. Finishes a tad soft, but the floral fade makes it all better again.

8 oz half pour draft at Bearded Iris Brewing in Nashville, Tennessee. The pour is a hazed yellow golden with a thin white head that leaves nice lace. The aroma is tangerine citrus along with a bit of floral. The taste is bright citrus tangerine along with fresh resin and a hint of cereal malt to the back. The palate is light bodied with soft carbonation and a mineral resin tangerine finish. Solid.

8 oz half pour draft at Bearded Iris Brewing in Nashville, Tennessee. The pour is a slightly hazed golden with a well formed 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is herbal spice with a hint of lemon floral and grain cracker malt. The taste is the herbal spice, lime citrus and the clean and fresh grain cracker malt. The palate is light to medium bodied with soft natural unfiltered mouthful, grain and herbal spice in the finish. Nice one.
